Description: It is used to treat advanced or metastatic breast cancer in patients when other cancer treatment medications have failed. It is used alone or in a combination with capecitabine.  

Indication: Advanced breast cancer

Use of IXEMPRA 15 mg & 45 mg Injection

This infusion is an anti-cancer medication that is used to treat advanced breast cancer and it works by damaging the genetic DNA of the cancer cells and decreases the growth of cancer cells.

• Headache and dizziness
• Pale skin
• Weight gain
• Dry mouth
• Bleeding gums
• Vomiting
• Fatigue
• Fever
• Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain
• Mucosal inflammation
• Decreased white blood cell count
• Anemia (low number of red blood cells)
• Joint pain
• Hair loss
• Low blood platelets
• Peripheral sensory neuropathy
• Nail disorder
• Constipation
• Loss of appetite
• Diarrhea
• Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils)
• Nausea

When not to use?

This injection is not suggested for use in patients with a known allergy to Ixabepilone or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.

Warning

• Pregnancy
  It is unsafe to give it to pregnant women. Please seek the advice of doctor for further info.
• Breast-feeding
  It is unsafe to use during breast-feeding, the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.
• Alcohol
  Contact with alcohol is mysterious. Please seek advice from your doctor.
• Driving or operating machinery
  Do not drive or operate machine unless you are feeling well, and Infusion may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive or operate machine.
• Kidney
